Ruth I Petrowske

RUTH I. PETROWSKE, 9 3 , of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 3:15 am, Saturday, April 23, 2022 at her residence.

She was born to the late Norbert G. and Martha (nee Bauer) Stumpe on April 20, 1929 in Chester, Illinois.

Ruth married Roger Petrowske on April 22, 1950 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on October 11, 2020. They were blessed with 70 years of marriage.

On January 1, 1991, Ruth retired from Chester Community Unit School District #139 after 25 years of service. She worked as the Board of Education and Superintendent’s secretary and district bookkeeper.

Ruth was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois, Blessed Virgin Mary Altar Sodality, American Legion Auxiliary in Chester, Illinois, AFSCME Retirees Sub Chapter 56, and Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Ruth and Roger enjoyed traveling for many years after their retirement. They traveled through all the United States and also many other countries. Ruth was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was greatly loved by her family and will be missed so very much.
