Samuel Otis Schmerbauch

SAMUEL OTIS SCHMERBAUCH, 75, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 9:35 am, Monday, May 29, 2023 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, Illinois.

He was born to the late Otis Charles and Mathilda J. (nee Lee) Schmerbauch on June 10, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Samuel had worked as an auditor for Western Area Power for 30 years.

He was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois. He was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #3553 in Chester. Samuel enjoyed collecting stamps and movie memorabilia.

Samuel was a United States Air Force Vietnam Veteran.

It was Samuel’s wish to be cremated. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Samuel's honor to St. Mary's Catholic School or Randolph County Humane Society and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester.
