SHIRLEY A. ROCHE, 89, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 6:57 pm, Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born to the late Benjamin and Cora (nee Sternberg) Diskey on October 12, 1936 in Walsh, Illinois.

Shirley married Verlin D. Roche on May 16, 1958 in Pinckneyville, Illinois; he preceded her in death on December 8, 2018.

She was a homemaker her whole life and truly enjoyed gardening and cooking with food grown in her garden. When she had some free time, you could find her crafting or going to local yard sales.

Shirley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chester, Illinois.

        Lillian and Jasper Povolish along with several other great grandchildren

   Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends
