Terry Mcconkey

WM. TERRY McCONKEY, 7 5, of Gurnee, Illinois, formerly of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 4:30 pm, November 29, 2022 in Gurnee, Illinois.

He was born to the late Wm. Russell and Orpha A. (Walter) McConkey on February 14, 1947 in Red Bud, Illinois.

Terry was a graduate of Southern Illinois University. Upon graduating from SIU he entered the military. He was a very proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in the 1 ^st Cavalry Division.

After serving his time in the military he worked at Captain Mine in Percy, Illinois for many years until its closure and his retirement.

The things that Terry most loved were family, fishing and music of all genres. Terry was never short on words and loved telling the latest joke. He was also an avid guitar and piano player and loved to entertain.

It was Terry’s wish to be cremated. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Mt. Summit Cemetery in Rockwood, Illinois.
