Tom Maue

TOM MAUE , 64 , of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 2:42 pm, Friday, November 18, 2022 at Addington Place of Sparta, Sparta, Illinois.

He was born to the late Alphonse H. and Marcella (nee Mueller) Maue on September 18, 1958 in Breese, Illinois.

Tom married Tracy McKinney on October 7, 1978 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester; she survives.

On August 17, 1978, Tom started as a correctional officer at Menard Correctional Center in Chester. On February 1, 1985, he was promoted to a Correctional Sergeant. On May 16, 1986, he was promoted to a Correctional Lieutenant. On July 16, 1990, he was promoted to a Correctional Captain. On November 18, 1994, he was promoted to a Unit Superintendent, and on November 16, 1999 he was promoted to a Major. Tom retired on November 26, 2008 from Menard Correctional Center where he was loved and respected by so many.

Tom was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois. He was a huge family man. Tom enjoyed deer hunting with his family, fishing, St. Louis Cardinal baseball games, BBQ cookouts and traveling to the beach every year with family. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
