William "Bill" Monroe Byrd

WILLIAM “BILL” MONROE BYRD , 86 , of Red Bud, Illinois, formerly of Ellis Grove, Illinois, passed away at 11:25 pm , Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at his residence.

He was born to the late John “Doc” M. and Katherine (nee Hunt) Byrd on August 2, 1932 in Aberdeen, North Carolina.

Bill married Frances “Fran” A. Yallaly on June 2, 1978 in Chester, Illinois; she survives.

He had worked at Menard Correctional Center in Chester, Illinois for 23 years.

Bill was a member of Masonic Lodge #72 in Chester, Illinois and American Legion Post #1172 in Evansville, Illinois.

He was Retired Air Force Veteran.
