ROGER R. "Pawpaw" McCORMICK, 68, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 9:50 pm, Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Illinois. He was born to the late Herbert R. and Edith Marie (nee Stewart) McCormick on October 10, 1946 in Rockwood, Illinois. He married Charlotte Robbins in 1968. She preceded him in death on April 27, 2011. He was a retired crane operator for Chemetco in Hartford, IL. Roger restored Classic and Antique cars and he held the track records in the mile and 800 meter run at Chester High School. He graduated from CHS in 1964. He was of the Christian Faith. He was a member of the American Legion Post #487 in Chester and Moose Lodge #1764 in Chester. He was Vietnam Conflict Army Veteran.
