BRUCE WILLIAM BROWN, 76, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 12:36 pm, Thursday, May 2, 2024 at his residence.


He was born to the late Spencer Francis and Maev (nee Berry) Brown on October 15, 1947 in Chester, Illinois.


Bruce married Mary Jacinta Maes on June 14, 1969 in Chester, Illinois; she survives.


He was the CEO of Southern Illinois Sand Company and it’s subsidiaries.


Bruce was an avid hunter and was a member of the Mississippi Valley Gun Club. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #72 in Chester and was a 32nd degree Shriner and a member of the V.F.W. Post #3553 and the American Legion Post #487 in Chester.


He was a United States Army Veteran where he served as a Captain during the Vietnam War.
