She was born to the late Louis and Martha (nee Wetzel) Stellhorn on February 15, 1936 in Red Bud, Illinois.

She married Elder P. Mehring on September 21, 1952 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Prairie (Red Bud), Illinois; he survives.

She was of the Lutheran Faith.
