About

The History of Pechacek Funeral Homes

The Welge Funeral Home was established in 1882. In 1985, a new chapel was built in Evansville, Illinois. These funeral homes would remain in the Welge Family until the funeral homes were sold to Ronald and Pamela Pechacek in June of 1990. At that time the funeral home was named Welge-Pechacek Funeral Homes. In 1994, a new location was built in Pam’s hometown of Red Bud, Illinois. In 2000, a new facility was constructed in Chester, Illinois. In the summer of 2001, Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home merged with the Schroeder-McClure Funeral Chapel; creating one funeral home in Chester named Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home. Upon Ron’s death in June 2017, his family took a year to figure out the best direction for the funeral home would be. In September 1, 2018, Pechacek Funeral Homes was created in honor of Ron’s dedication and love for the funeral business and his communities he served for the last 40 years.

We can create a customized, online memorial for you to share with family and friends. The memorial includes the obituary and any photographs you wish to provide. It will serve as a place for visitors to post condolences, share memories, upload photos, and light candles in honor of your loved one.

Tribute Videos

We can produce a personal tribute video that can be played at the service and online. Simply provide us with the photographs you want to include and we will transform them into a video celebration of your treasured memories. DVDs or digital files of the video are also available.

Daily Grief Support Emails

We offer one year of free weekly grief support emails to the families we serve. It is important to us that we continue to comfort our families through the difficult days that the first year of grieving can bring.
